Insight on the oh so Trendy lace  frontal illusions.
The FAQs by most clients…  why is everyone so hung up on lace frontal illusions and how does it differ from the lace closures.
Lace closures are used in creating amazing patterns, it’s used to imitate what a natural pattern looks like when sewing an installation.
Whilst lace frontals are either used with bond glues, tapes or simply made into wigs ( in my opinion).
They both serve the same purpose, which is to close off an install. They pretty much eliminate the need for blending.
The most obvious difference between lace frontals and lace closures are their sizes. Lace frontals are bigger mainly because they run from temple to temple (13* 4)to cover the entire hairline. On the other hand, Lace closures are smaller because their primary purpose is to close off an install hence the name closure. Closures only cover a size portion at the top of an install(3.5*4).
Another difference between the two is that lace closures are sewn into place while lace frontals are generally meant to be bonded in place or made into wigs.
Lace frontals are commonly placed in front of the hairline usually because they are used to imitate an actual hairline.
Wearing a lace frontal gives you a couple of styling option that a closure wouldn’t.
The versatility of a frontal cannot be compared to a closure, frontals allow you to wear your hair pulled back, to the centre or to the other side. Remember closures only cover a small portion of the installation making it impossible to pull back or to the sides without exposing your tracks.
It all boils down to your style and how you love to wear your hair, a lace frontal may be more appealing than a closure or vice versa. If you like to have your looks versatile which is pulled back, to the side or centre then a lace frontal will be better for you. If you simply want to close your install with a natural looking scalp then a lace closure will be the best solution for you. Either way they both will enhance your install by giving it the natural look that we all go for!
